Perlane®
Perlane® is an injectable cosmetic dermal filler that
has been used to soften wrinkles and facial folds of patients
across the world. It is also a popular filler for lip augmentation,
facial depressions, and facial scarring. The hyaluronic acid
in Perlane® supplements the body’s natural supply,
which becomes depleted with age. Perlane® is biodegradable
so its effects are not permanent but the results of a Perlane® filler
treatment tend to last six months to a year.

Restylane
What is it?
Restylane is one of the newest and safest dermal fillers
available. It is used in a similar manner as Collagen, but
is longer-lasting and has a more natural consistency. Restylane
is made from non-animal-based hylauronic acid, which is a
naturally occurring sugar-like substance found in your own
skin. As we age, the hylauronic acid in our tissue diminishes,
resulting in lines and wrinkles. Restylane, like Collagen
or fat injections, can be used to restore volume to areas
of the face to create a fuller, more youthful look. Since
Restylane binds to water, it has a soft and natural consistency.
Who is this for?
Restylane can be used for people who want to diminish facial
wrinkles, dark circles under their eyes and for lip augmentation.
How does it work?
It is injected into facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial
folds (those lines from the side of the mouth to the nose);
marionette lines (the grooves that pull the mouth down at
the corners) and hollows under the eyes. It can also be used
to enhance thin lips, minimize vertical lip lines and to
help reduce the feathering of lipstick onto the skin. Since
it can be accurately place within these areas, a customized
lip can be created according to your preference.
Treatment results from Restylane typically lasts 6 months,
and beyond for some patients. No skin test is needed, so
you can start your treatment at your first visit. Treatments
are repeated as needed. Lip enhancement can cause significant
swelling for 48 hours. Treatment of other facial areas can
also be associated with some swelling and bruising. Icing
can help minimize these side effects. Without ongoing treatments,
Restylane is gradually absorbed by the body, and your face
returns to its original contours.

JUVÉDERM™
What is it?
We are pleased to have Juvederm as one of our newest offerings
in facial rejuvenation. Juvederm is one of the newest dermal
fillers for the correction of facial wrinkles and folds.
Brought to you by Allergan, the makers of Botox, Juvederm
is made of hyaluronic acid in a smooth gel formulation.
It is a non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural component
of our skin that diminishes with age. Treatment with Juvederm
is simply replacing what we have lost.
Who is this for?
Injection with Juvederm can reduce wrinkles, lines and
depressions, and re-create the facial and jaw line contours
associated with younger skin.
How does it work?
The appearance of wrinkles and facial folds can be minimized
by smoothing them out and adding volume underneath. This
brings the sunken skin back to the surface. The Juvederm
gel is very smooth, and is associated with less swelling
and bruising. It also contains the highest concentration
of hyaluronic acid currently available in a dermal filler.
Juvederm is very long-lasting, typically 6 months and beyond.
The treatment of facial wrinkles and folds with hyaluronic
acid is currently the fastest growing non-surgical aesthetic
procedure in the United States.

Collagen
What is it?
Collagen is a protein that provides structural support to
your skin. As we age, the collagen in our tissue deteriorates,
causing sagging, wrinkling, and loss of fullness. A dermatologist
can inject collagen directly into the areas where you may
have lines or wrinkles, restoring the way you used to look
years ago.
Who is this for?
It is for people who are concerned about wrinkles around
the mouth, the nasolabial folds, the forehead and frown
lines, or lines around the eyes. It can also be used
to define the
edge of the lip to give a crisper line or "white roll,” to
reduce vertical lip lines and to help reduce the feathering
of lipstick onto the skin. How does it work?
The collagen is injected just below the surface of the
skin, filling in unwanted lines and wrinkles and adding definition
to the lip border. Treatment results are immediate and
usually last 3 months. Without ongoing treatments, the
collagen is gradually absorbed by the body and your face
returns to its original contours. Treatment and recovery
usually take less than one hour. Collagen replacement
therapy
is associated with little to no swelling or bruising.
This means that you can come in over your lunch hour for
treatment,
apply a little makeup afterwards, and go right back to
work. In addition, there is a local anesthetic in the
collagen product so there is minimal discomfort with the
treatment.
