About Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Two popular US FDA approved kits are Regent™ and Selphyl™ to separate, prepare, and activate your blood to get PRP. The use of PRP has long been known in a variety of aesthetic, surgical and wound care field of medicine. PRP is a carefully designed leading edge product that has been scientifically verified for aesthetic applications. In MD Laser and Cosmetics, we utilize Regent™ technology to provide the service of Vampire Lift for our patients. RegenLab™ provides patients with the best enriched plasma, including platelet count and growth factor analytics. The results have proven to be superior.

The internal essence of the blood inside you contains life-giving fundamental protein growth factors that are designed to restore and strengthen your body. PRP, a leading edge patented technology, harnesses a high concentration of your own biological nutrient-rich cells and unleashes them to naturally promote skin health by stimulating a rebuilding of the underlying structural integrity of your skin. With a simple, quick and advantageous RegenLab™ process, your own blood is safety prepared on the physician’s premises and is delivered to your skin within the same treatment session.

How does PRP work?

PRP is a regenerative medicine and works best aesthetically when it is introduced into the skin. Your own concentration of cells will then work with your body to naturally promote a structure and signals process for new tissue and collagen growth.

When will I see results?

After the treatment patients often notice fine lines and wrinkles have softened and deeper wrinkled areas, such as nasilabial-folds, may look more plump and smoother. However, according to studies, the main goal of a PRP treatment is to stimulate fiberblast and develop long-term collagen formations in the dermis. Any plumping in the treated areas with PRP may slowly be absorbed into the dermis creating a platform for stronger skin and a more healthy appearance.

Overall, results are gradual and will vary from person to person based on health, age, and genetic make-up. Most patients enjoy quantifiable improvements in skin complexion texture, and tone usually within three weeks. Subtle improvement can progressively continue for up to a year.

What areas can be treated with PRP?

PRP is derived from you own biological make-up and does not contain synthetic products, therefore, virtually any area of the body can be treated such as: face, neck, chest, hands, scars, etc.

How many treatments will I need?

The basic strategy for a PRP program can range from one to three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Yet, once you discuss primary priorities of your skin needs with your physician, the number of treatments could vary.

Are there any side effects?
Because all constitutes retrieved in PRP are exclusively from you (autologous in origin), there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or intolerance. Nevertheless, before the treatment you need to disclose all the medications you are taking (including herbs) with your doctor.

How will I take care of my skin after the treatment?
In order to enjoy a maximum response to your PRP treatment, you should eat right, drink lots of water and incorporate the recommended facial care by your physician.
